Andrea Rivera is the current student council president who believes in “making sure that everyone gets their voice heard.” She joined student council during her sophomore year to get volunteer hours and improve her social skills. “When I signed up… I couldn’t even do a presentation in front of a class of 20 people… [Now] I can speak in front of almost the whole school at assemblies, which is an amazing feeling.”
Rivera thinks of student council as a second family and loves hanging out with them, even out of school. Her favorite part is seeing her dances and assemblies come together and make people happy. If she could change anything about her experience, it would be for the student council to start attending leadership conventions again.
